GTA 6 Cheat Codes: Will GTA 6 Have Cheats? (No Fake Codes)
Quick answer
Rockstar has not confirmed whether GTA 6 will have cheat codes. Every GTA from GTA III to GTA 5 had cheats in story mode, so most fans expect them, but nothing is official. Any 'GTA 6 cheat list' you see before November 19, 2026 is made up. We'll test and publish real codes on launch day.
"GTA 6 cheats" is already one of the most searched GTA 6 questions on Google, weeks before anyone can even play the game. So let's do what we always do here: separate what's confirmed from what's guesswork.
Short version: Rockstar hasn't said a word about cheats yet. Not yes, not no.
What Rockstar has confirmed about GTA 6 cheats
Nothing. There is no official cheat list, no confirmed input method and no Rockstar Newswire post about cheats. Rockstar's official announcements so far cover the release date, the editions and price, pre-load and the age rating. Cheats aren't mentioned anywhere.
That means one thing: any site showing you a "full GTA 6 cheat list" right now is making it up. The game launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until then, nobody outside Rockstar can test a single code.
Why most fans expect cheats anyway
History. Cheat codes are part of GTA's DNA:
- GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas made cheats famous: tank spawns, wanted level wipes, weird weather.
- GTA IV moved cheats to the in-game phone: you dialed a number to activate them.
- GTA 5 kept both: button combos on console and phone numbers in story mode.
Rockstar has kept cheats in every main GTA for over 20 years. That's a strong pattern, but it's not a promise. We label it as what it is: an expectation, not a fact.
How cheats worked in GTA 5 (the best guide we have)
If GTA 6 follows GTA 5, this is roughly what to expect:
| GTA 5 | |
|---|---|
| Where | Story mode only |
| How (console) | Button combinations during play |
| How (phone) | Dialing a number on the in-game phone |
| GTA Online | Cheats did not work |
| Trophies/achievements | Disabled for that save session after using a cheat |
Again: this table is GTA 5, not GTA 6. Rockstar can change all of it.
Does GTA 6 have online at launch? (and why it matters for cheats)
Take-Two has said GTA 6 launches as a single-player game. That actually makes cheats more likely to stay in: in past games, cheats were a story-mode feature and were always blocked online. More in our guide: Does GTA 6 have online at launch?

The fake GTA 6 cheat traps to avoid
This is where people get burned. Watch out for:
- "Cheat lists" with codes for an unreleased game. Copy-pasted from GTA 5 or invented for clicks.
- Cheat tools, trainers or "mod menus" to download. GTA 6 isn't on PC and isn't out. These are malware.
- "Money generators" that ask for your PSN or Xbox login. That's account theft, full stop.
- Paid "early cheat packs". Nobody can sell what doesn't exist yet.

On launch day, November 19, 2026. As soon as the game unlocks, we'll test codes ourselves and publish only what actually works, platform by platform (PS5 and Xbox). Every code on this page will be tested and dated. No copy-paste, no guesses.

FAQ
+Does GTA 6 have cheat codes?
Not confirmed. Rockstar hasn't mentioned cheats in any official announcement. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026; we'll know for sure once people can play it.
+Are there GTA 6 cheat codes for PC?
No. GTA 6 isn't announced for PC, so there are no PC cheat codes. Sites listing 'GTA 6 PC cheats' are inventing them.
+Are the GTA 6 cheat lists online real?
No. The game isn't out yet, so nobody outside Rockstar can have tested codes. Lists you see today are copied from GTA 5 or invented.
+How did cheats work in GTA 5?
In GTA 5 story mode you could enter button combinations on console, type commands on PC, or dial phone numbers on the in-game phone. Cheats didn't work in GTA Online.
+Will cheats disable trophies in GTA 6?
Unknown until launch. In GTA 5, using a cheat disabled trophies and achievements for that save session. Rockstar hasn't said how GTA 6 will handle it.
+Is there a GTA 6 money cheat?
Nothing is confirmed. GTA 5 had no money cheat (older games like San Andreas did), so don't trust anyone selling or promising one for GTA 6.
+Can I download a GTA 6 cheat tool or trainer?
Don't. GTA 6 isn't on PC and isn't released yet. Downloads promising cheats, mods or early access are scams or malware.
