GTA 6 Release Date & Time: Everything Confirmed
Quick answer
GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — Rockstar Games confirmed that date. The exact unlock time per region has not been announced yet; based on past Rockstar launches, local midnight is the most likely estimate.
Mark it down: November 19, 2026. That's the date Rockstar Games has officially locked in for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Here's everything that's actually confirmed — and the one big thing that isn't yet.
The confirmed release date
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That date comes straight from Rockstar Games. No leaks, no "sources say." Official.
How we got here: the delays
Let's be honest, the road was long:
- Dec 2023 — Trailer 1 drops and Rockstar says "2025".
- May 2025 — Rockstar moves the game to May 26, 2026.
- Nov 2025 — Rockstar moves it again, to November 19, 2026.
Rockstar said the extra time was about polish. As a dad who's waited a decade for this, I'll take a finished game over a rushed one.
