How many story missions did GTA 5 have?
You'll see different numbers online: 69, 74, 80, 83. They're all "right," they just count different things.

Why the gap? GTA 5's heists come in two flavors. The Jewel Store Job can be done Loud or Smart, The Big Score Subtle or Obvious, the Merryweather Heist Offshore or Freighter. Count both versions and the total jumps. Some sites also add the three endings or a couple of required Strangers & Freaks missions, which is where "about 80" comes from.

How many missions did Red Dead Redemption 2 have?
104 main story missions, according to Push Square. They're spread over six chapters plus a two-part epilogue (eight chapters on paper).

Our reasoning:
- Rockstar North's Rob Nelson said his playthrough took about 80 hours, including some optional goals (New York Times, via TechRadar). That's closer to RDR2's scale than GTA 5's.
- RDR2 packed 104 missions into roughly 50 hours of story. A longer game could mean more missions, or just longer ones.
- Two protagonists who often work together could mean fewer "split" missions than GTA 5's three-character setup.
Could it be way off? Absolutely. That's why it's labeled.
