Will Trevor Be in GTA 6? (And Michael, Franklin & CJ)
Quick answer
Not confirmed. Rockstar hasn't announced Trevor, Michael, Franklin or CJ for GTA 6. The confirmed main characters are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval in the state of Leonida. Trevor's actor Steven Ogg has said he hasn't recorded anything for GTA 6 and that, as far as he knows, Trevor isn't in it, while joking it would be fun if Trevor appeared just to be killed.
It's the question that won't die: is Trevor in GTA 6? And while we're at it: Michael, Franklin, CJ? Here's what's confirmed, what the actors said, and what's just fan hope.
Confirmed GTA 6 characters
Rockstar's official GTA 6 marketing focuses on two new protagonists:
- Lucia Caminos
- Jason Duval
They're a criminal duo in Leonida, Rockstar's Florida-inspired state with Vice City at its heart. No GTA 5 character has been announced.
Will Trevor be in GTA 6?
Not confirmed. What his actor Steven Ogg has said:
- He hasn't recorded anything for GTA 6, and if he had, NDAs would stop him from saying so.
- As far as he knows, Trevor isn't in GTA 6.
- He joked (January 2025): "It would be fun if Trevor appeared in it just to be killed at the beginning."
So: no announcement, no recordings according to the actor, and a joke about a cameo. We label it ⚠️ not confirmed.
Will Michael, Franklin or CJ return?
| Character | Game | GTA 6 status |
|---|---|---|
| Trevor Philips | GTA 5 | Not confirmed |
| Michael De Santa | GTA 5 | Not confirmed |
| Franklin Clinton | GTA 5 | Not confirmed |
| CJ (Carl Johnson) | San Andreas | Not confirmed |
| Tommy Vercetti | Vice City (2002) | Not confirmed |
Rockstar usually starts each main GTA with new protagonists. Cameos and references to older games happen in the series, but nothing has been announced for GTA 6.

Why fans expect cameos anyway
- GTA 6 returns to Vice City, Tommy Vercetti's city from 2002, so fans hope for nods to the past.
- GTA 5's trio are hugely popular thanks to GTA Online and YouTube.
- Rockstar loves easter eggs.
Those are good reasons to hope, not evidence. We'll confirm cameos only once people are actually playing on November 19, 2026.
Watch out for "leaked cameo" clickbait
