Is GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One? (PS4 Release Date Explained)
Quick answer
No. GTA 6 has no PS4 or Xbox One version and no PS4 release date. Rockstar only announced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026. If you're on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll need a current-gen console to play it at launch.
Still on a PS4 or Xbox One? Here's the straight answer, and your options for November 19.
GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One: not happening (as announced)
Rockstar has announced GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There's no PS4 version, no Xbox One version and therefore no PS4 release date.
Full overview of every platform: GTA 6 platforms.
Why last-gen is left out
Rockstar hasn't explained it in detail, but the pattern is clear: GTA 6 is built around current-gen hardware. Rockstar highlights things like the PS5's SSD for near-instant loading in the open world. PS4 and Xbox One use slower hard drives and much older processors.
(GTA 5 did the reverse: it launched on PS3/Xbox 360 and was later re-released on newer consoles. GTA 6 starts on current-gen.)
Don't fall for "GTA 6 PS4 download" offers
Because so many people search for a PS4 version, scammers sell fake "GTA 6 PS4" downloads and codes. They don't exist. More: GTA 6 scams & fake codes.
